PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 10 June 2026
This policy explains what information KongQuest ("we", "us") collects when you use kongquest.app, kongquest.com.au, and connected KongQuest services (together, "the Platform"), and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: name, email address, and password (stored encrypted, we never see it in plain text).
- Profile details you choose to add: bio, avatar, location, and social media links such as your Instagram handle.
- Content you post: posts, comments, videos, showreels.
- Payment details when you buy a membership. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
- Messages you send us, including support requests.
Information collected automatically:
- Progress and activity on the Platform: XP, ranks, levels, lessons completed, posts, likes.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, clicks, session length, approximate location (city level), device and browser type. Session analytics may include replays of how the Platform was used; text typed into private fields such as passwords is masked and not recorded.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and the Platform: logins, profiles, progress, community.
- To process payments and manage memberships.
- To improve the Platform: understanding what members use, where they get stuck, and what to build next.
- To keep the community safe and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- To contact you about your account and, if you opt in, about news and offers. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell personal information.
3. Children
KongQuest welcomes young athletes. Accounts for members under 16 must be created by a parent or guardian, who accepts our terms and this policy on the child's behalf. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time to access, correct, or delete their child's information.
4. Who we share it with
Only services that help us run the Platform: hosting and database providers, payment processors, analytics providers, and email providers. Some store data on servers outside Australia (for example, the United States); where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with Australian privacy law. We share information with authorities only where the law requires it.
If you use the Platform from outside Australia, your information is transferred to and processed in Australia and the United States. Where the privacy laws of your region (for example, the UK or the European Union) give you additional rights over your information, you can exercise them through the contact in section 8 and we will honour them.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies that keep you logged in and remember your settings (the Platform cannot work without these), and analytics that measure how the Platform is used so we can improve it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the Platform, such as staying logged in, from working.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, accounting, or dispute purposes. Posts woven into community discussions may remain in anonymised form.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, and access controls. If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the regulator as the law requires.
8. Your choices and rights
You can see and update your profile from your account settings, change or reset your password, delete your account, ask us for access to or correction of your personal information, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Contact help@kongquest.com.au. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. The current version always lives here, with its last-updated date at the top.
